It has been said so many times over, that in order for Google plus to be successful it has to develop a need for Google service to go through the service. For example: the Google calendar has the ability to sync up to your mobile phone. This feature makes it absolutely a breeze to use because not only will you be notified of any event through your mobile but also when you are in front of the desktop computer. This develops a need for an internet goer to develop a need for using Google calendar because it’s so much useful and its integration is seamless to other Google products like the android which makes the choice of using it a no brainer.
This is the kind of integration that Google plus needs to have. It needs to have features so deeply tied up with other more popular Google product so it is unbearable for a regular Google user not to engage with it.
The good thing is, Google plus seems to have already found the right formula to make it unavoidable for people who use other Google products.
One of the most impressive is the way Google tied it up with its most important product – search. You see Google has invested so much into Google plus that it isn’t willing to part with it anymore. Looks to me like the company is going to give it all it can give to ensure the survival of its social experiment – its baby. Have you noticed that even article posted in Google plus shows up in the searches we make in the search engine? I have, and it is indeed surprising. It is surprising for me because not only does the Google search engine recognize the posts in Google plus a part of its search results but it puts it in such a high regard. Not only will you be encountering pages and articles in Google plus on your search results more often, but you will also see them on the first pages. That is a bit odd because of what we know about putting a page on top. Most of us know how much effort one needs to invest to make a page or website rank higher than the rest on Google.
With these changes, Google can now expect that the adopters of Google plus will continue to grow. They can be assured that people will still pursue to increase Google plus 1s on their websites because of its gravity with the giant search engine. With this leverage alone many of us can say that Google plus can hold its own today and in the near future. It’s being backed up by powerful friends and we say that cliché because it is exactly what’s happening.
Although Google cannot say for now that it is at the same level as Facebook is enjoying right now in terms of social networking (and it may never will). The site should still be glad to know that its foundation is solid enough for it to always stay at striking distance.
